SimpleCube BI Tool

Business Intelligence tools can provide much needed information beyond the spreadsheets and totals that many of us use routinely.
SimpleCube offers data visualisation, calculation and statistical modelling tools that allow organisations deeper understanding of the patterns and trends within their data. SimpleCube keeps all data in memory and so is amazingly fast in extracting, filtering and presenting views of the data.

The Grid view can show clusters of data, each sublevel can be filtered or rearranged using the mouse. Standard summary calculations include
  • Count
  • Sum
  • Average
  • Variance
  • Standard Deviation
  • Skewness
  • Kurtosis
  • Percentile bands (10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 90th)
  • as well as a user defined calculation option allowing almost any other summary type.
Grid cells can be coloured to quickly see trends and patterns.
Charts can be drawn to display the grid summaries in an easier form. A wide range of charts can be shown :
  • Bar
  • Pie
  • Line
  • Point
  • Bubble
  • Area
  • Box plots
  • Polar plots
  • Donut
  • and many more...
The charts can be displayed in 2D or 3D views and are easily copied to the clipboard or exported as images. Charts can also have trendlines, curvefitting or other functions plotted, making them a powerful data visualisation tool on their own. Some charts can also display detail data (the data underpinning the summaries shown in the grid) and changes made to the source grid are instantly reflected in the linked charts.
Statistical tests and models can be calculated using the summary data or the detail data underpinning the summaries. Like the charts, a statistics window is linked to a grid and updates its display as soon as any changes are made to the grid.
Curve Fitting
  • Circle
  • Gaussian
  • Exponential
  • Hoerl
  • Linear
  • Power
  • Logarithmic
Statistical Tests
  • Anova
  • Normality
  • Mann-Whitney
  • T-Test
  • Chi-square
  • Multi Linear Regression
  • Principal Component Analysis
  • Partial Least Squares
  • PLS Cross Validate
Dashboards are a good way to distribute the results of the data analysis to thoise who just want an overview or who would like to explore the data by changing filters but not get involved in the more comples details. Users design the dashboards by positioning display and data elements.
Grids, charts and individual statistics can all be shown and there are a number of multi-state graphic icons to help show trend status without needing figures.
Filtering causes instant changes to the displayed data and dashboards can be distrbuted with a separate viewer program.
